5716 75 St NW T6E 5X6,
They serve alcohol so I would think you had to be at least 18
Huge game selection. Food was delicious. Tried out the various alcohol drinks. Really enjoyed playing new games in a laid back atmosphere.
A wide selection of board games while offering very positive service
I really enjoy going to this Tabletop Cafe. The employees are helpful and knowledgable; always bring your order and always provide help with games (missing pieces, sleeves, etc). The pay a flat fee and play as long as you want, works really well for my friends and me since we like to play for many hours. Be aware they are busy on weekends so I recommend always making a reservation just in case!
Awesome board game cafe. So many games to choose from, pretty great menu that includes lots of snacks, and a friendly staff that has always been great every time I go.
Everyone who works there is friendly, welcoming and helpful. The coffee and food is so delicious and super reasonably priced. It's a cozy atmosphere.
Atmosphere and inclusivity of the building and staff are great, though the food is nothing special. Having a proper chef with a full kitchen would go a long way with providing a truly special experience, though I wouldn't use that as a reason to write off this otherwise lovely establishment. Would definitely recommend.
Been here a few times and there's still a lot of games to choose from. You are able to buy board games here too. Best to have at least 3 players! Food is great!
Lots of games to choose from and a great and friendly staff! Delicious food also!
Friendly and knowledgeable staff. The carrot cake is really good. And their coffee cups are huge! Lots of games to choose from. Would highly recommend it.
Nice food, good humble staff, ample parking space. Cozy environment coupled with good tasty fresh food, what else one can ask for. Keep it up guys. Kindly make your menu a little bit more reasonable and decent, price wise too. Just saying. Otherwise, this is the one among the best in the area. Keep it up guys, keep on serving like that only. God bless you.
Been here multiple times with friends and family and was extremely disappointed on how we were treated! Multiple times we’ve been there and yes it gets loud but we’ve never complained as it happens when you play games. Our group got a bit loud and we were told to keep it down cause of another table. The response we got from the owner was oh well too bad. With so many other places we’ll go somewhere else instead.
Cute spot! Definitely will be back
The four of us spent about 5 hours there on December 29, 2017. We played three board games. "Formula D", "Boss Monsters" and "King of New York". They were in good condition. The games available are organized according to number of players and length of time necessary to play. There is a flat $5 fee for using the facility payable at the end of the night for each person. We each ordered a soft pretzel (special of the day) and nacho cheese dip. They tasted fairly fresh. We also ordered vegetables and hummus dip. The atmosphere was good. The place was almost full but we didn't feel like it was because the noise level was fairly low. Will definitely go back as there were a few other games that we want to try!!
We love Tabletop. The selection of games is amazing, and we have bought many games here. The food is delicious and the staff are incredible. They have even explained some games to us when we were unsure how to play. We often switch back and forth between their two locations and enjoy our time at both.
Clean, quite, family friendly! Great menu options for a quick bite, but the serving sizes are a little small to be a full meal in my opinion. Great prices on games for purchase as well!
Ample parking, great service, good selection of games and food, clean and spacious for groups of all sizes! Played a few games, but Skull was definitely my favourite. A bit janky to understand the rules (poorly written), but once it gets going it is a super fun game.
Great place to meet people who also like to play board games. 100's of games for sho sale. Decently priced food
Great vibe to this place. Wasnt too loud but then it wasnt a full house either. Lots of parking available, easy to get to and the menu was impressive. Some good prices on the merchandise that is for sale as well.
So much fun!
Inexpensive date night. Less then $40 for 2 people with unlimited game play, a non-alcoholic drink each and snacks. HUGE board game selection, including classics and more unknown titles, and you can try as many different games as you'd like. Also has games for sale if you really like one you tried. Staff is very knowledgeable and can suggest new games based on your preferences. Family friendly as well, we have brought our kids (12 and less then a year) before and this location has a change table in one of the bathrooms. Not a huge amount of space for strollers or car seats tho while seated at a table but is adequate for wheelchair access at all tables (strollers would block walking paths). Overall a great experience and will be a regular outing location
Lots of games for all ages and play levels.Great food, big tables, lots of light. Exactly what you want in a game cafe!
Always a great time! Great staff, great eats - quite a menu slection so its easy to stay thru dinner. I really appreciate that he tables and games are always clean. A great way to spend any free time friends.
It's hard to find a table top cafe in Edmonton. It's even harder to find one as good as this. What sets Table Top Cafe apart from its competition is the quality of service that would put many restaurants to shame. The staff regularly walk around the floor to take empty plates and ask to refill glasses. Quality service, delicious food and drink, excellent environment, and great game selection make Table Top Cafe more than worth the inconvenient location.
Update: I had a game night here with my boyfriend and we did have a lot of fun ($7 Stay and Play all day; no in and out privileges). I do feel the food is pricey for what it is, so I will probably eat first somewhere else, and then just order some popcorn & drink next time. I did enjoy the beverage selection and again we definitely enjoyed trying out a new game. I like that they leave your tab open until the end so you can just relax and play your game. Staff is still very knowledgeable and friendly, I have had no issues yet. Prices on new games are similar or the same as online so you don't get overcharged like at River City Games. Staff is very helpful and I have bought games on their recommendation. I have get to get to stay and play (and eat!) but I look forward to that day! I like the selection of games and the concept of the store. I only wish I had thought of it first!
Friendly and helpful staff. Ready and willing to help you find a game to suit you and also help you learn to play it.
Fun time for sure! Could use a few more food options. Staff are awesome and knowledgeable.
I take my kids here to play random boardgames, they love it
Was not open when advertised. Knock on the door at 1030pm, nobody home. Why advertise 11pm close when you close before 1030pm? Deeply disheartened.
Lots of selections of board games ~ a good place to hangout with friends and play board games ~ the coffee is giant (but light) and the carrot cake is yummy!
Really great idea- you rent table-top board games and enjoy some time with your friends. How it works: for a small fee you have unlimited access for the day to hundreds of popular board games to play with your friends. The atmosphere is like your kitchen table in a nice library. Buy snacks and drinks at the snack counter. If you really like the game you are playing, there are new copies available for sale. Very comfortable and fun!!
Loved it. Play games or hang out with friends. Accompanied with a lovely service. This cafe had decent prices menu. The onwer checks on you if services is good or if you need anything....
I'm giving table top Cafe 5 stars, but it's 100% BASED ON SERVICE.I've never stayed there and eaten. I'm reviewing the staff because they're super helpful and friendly and knowledgeable about games. They are the board gaming equivalent of finding a great butcher. They know their product and they're passionate about it. If you love gaming and you want to shop for new games somewhere that the staff can tell you about the gameplay and the experience of the games they sell go here.
Wow. What an awesome place for a fun night (or day) out. So many varied games to choose from, friendly staff to quickly get you up to speed on rules if you need, yummy food and drinks, plenty of room, comfy atmosphere. And inexpensive as well! Going to make this a regular place.
I love visiting Table Top's original location and Edmonton's first board game cafe. It's a great place to go wtih your friends to sit down and play games. Brian has worked hard at creating a great atmosphere, and he's always working on improving the menu options available. Table Top also has an amazing selection of board games to buy - it's been my go-to shop for games for years. I do wish that the shop prices were a teensy bit more competitive with some of the other board game shops in town, but I am happy to support a local business. Brian is the reason that my husband and I really got into board games, and it was because of Table Top that we've developed an amazing network of close gaming friends so I'm grateful for his contribution to the local business community.
If you love board games and spending time with friends...this place is for you!
Love this place! Friendly staff, huge selection, and great prices! My fav no-pressure hangout location!
Always enjoy coming here. Cheap and big selection of board games. Make sure you get the cookies and milk!
Spent a night at a drop in D&D session. I had a lot of fun and was welcomed even though I was new to the game. I am interested in playing for regularly but they currently only have one DM and its really hard to get a spot. They use Facebook events to book your spot which makes it easy, but spots are filled within a day.
Only like $7 to play games all day, staff was friendly and the food and drinks were good. Large variety of games to choose from. It was my first time at a board game cafe and I definitely will be coming back
We love this place. The food is a little expensive, but there are always vouchers available on groupon. Good selection of games and great service. I haven't been when it is busy, but have never been made to feel rushed or embarrassed by my kids enthusiasm when they get a little loud.
Great cozy little boardgame cafe. Food is good and priced fairly. Entry is $5 per person per day which is awesome because most other places charge per hour and can get expensive. They have an extensive collection of boardgames and my group an I stayed right until closing playing boardgames. Makes for an awesome night out with a few friends
Great experience as always, there is a good selection of games. Staff are always friendly, environment is cozy. A good spot for groups and very reasonable prices.
This place is great for a date night, or casual get together with friends. So many board games to chose from, and if you really like a particular game - they might have a new one in their stock for sale.
A beautiful atmosphere and friendly people working there and on top of that hundreds of board games. If you want just to do something with your friends on a nice evening/ night, then go for it.
Large selection of board games, all for a very reasonable price. Snacks are pretty expensive though.
Favorite table top store in the city. Staff that is beyond nice and easy to talk to. All the events offered here have great people in them. It's not a bad way to spend the day, and the food is great too!
What an amazing experience. Came here as the 'after party' for my wife's birthday, and we had a blast, staying right until closing. Drinks and snacks very reasonably priced, as well as the $7 cover charge. Wish I'd found it sooner, and will be back again for sure!
Stopped in for a bite to eat and a Cafe Latte. The wrap I got was delicious although I wish I could get regular fries instead of chips. Staff was extremely helpful and polite and it's a very cool atmosphere. I would be interested to come with some friends and play some board games next time.
Good food, great staff and friendly environment. This place is clean, well maintained and looks inviting. The food we ordered is delicious and really hits the spot, their coffee cups are huge and are worth the price and they have a large variety of games and events to join in on. Will definitely be returning in the future.
So much fun! A few softer chairs would be nice, but man the pulled pork sandwich was really good and so was the grilled cheese. The battle-chips was an amount that I tried to eat them all and I couldn't, salsa was obviously homemade and somewhat perfect actually. It was my friend's birthday and we played 5minute dungeons (?) 5 minute something I can't remember but it was super fun. I had my 5y/o with me and she kept herself busy, there were lots of kids games but I wouldn't recommend bringing kids under 5 or 6. It's kid friendly but not chuck e cheese. I haven't had that much fun in a long time. I will definitely be back again and definitely plan to enjoy more adult beverages next time. Prices of food and drinks and snacks and the 5 buck door fee was still under 50$ for me and my daughter and I can barely make out that good at McDonald's! Really can't wait to go back. I didn't take a picture while I was there so here's a sweet comic instead.
